Product placements in movies can be something as little as a two second shot of the logo of a brand, a character using a product, or a product specifically being apart of a plot . This was brought to my attention watching a special about my favorite show FRIENDS. They discussed how much exposure Starbucks or another coffee company could have if the cast wasn't always at the generic Central Perk, and instead always went to a Starbucks around the corner from where they lived. When you think of it, everyone knows Carrie's guilty shoe pleasure is in Sex and the City (Manolo Blahniks... in case you didn't), among dozens of other examples. After researching a little, it is shown amongst several studies that product placement in movies is easily noticed by viewers and they will remember this exposure afterwards to the specific products and brands.
